This weekend we went to Atlanta for a brief getaway for our anniversary, although our trip to Costa Rica was our real anniversary celebration, I figured a couple days away from the house wouldn't be too bad. Of course Drew would probably disagree after working a month of 12 hours shifts and Saturday being opening day of gun season! Tuesday will be our actual 2 year anniversary and I cannot believe how fast it has gone by and how truly amazing these past 2 years have been!
We left Friday morning and went through Macon on our way to Atlanta. We stopped by Bass Pro Shop in Macon and Tanger Outlets in Locust Grove. I got a few sweaters for winter and Drew got himself a pair of 'city' shoes which are pictured below. Note: this is a big deal because in the 6 years I've never seem him in anything but boots and the occasional flip flops. We went to the world of Coca Cola on Friday as well and I must admit it was a bust (to me at least) but then again I'm not a big fan of crowds.
Outside of the world of Coca Cola.
We ate dinner at a restaurant near the hotel called Piola. They specialized in authentic Italian pizza and was pretty dang delicious but way too much food!
On Saturday we tracked down an IHOP and had breakfast before heading to Six Flags. Both Drew and I haven't been to Six Flags since high school so we were both pretty excited about going. We purchased the Flash Pass which pretty much all but eliminated waiting in line to ride the roller coasters and we both agree it was well worth money. The only problem with the Flash Pass is that since we didn't really have any 'recovery time' between rides we were on the verge of being severely sick after the 5th or 6th ride! Oh how times have changed!
We left Six Flags and went to Lenox Mall to do a little shopping. Drew and I were both unaware that people however do not shop at Lenox Mall anymore. Apparently the goal at Lenox is to just walk around, buy nothing and do your very best to get in my way! We were both missing our small town life at this point (and out dogs of course!).
Six Flags!
Drew's "city" shoes..
All in all it was a fun trip but city living is definitely no lifestyle for the two of us! :)
