Productive Saturday

Last night I ventured up to Drew's man-room to take a look around to see if there was anything he needed for his birthday. Unfortunately it was in such disarray that I couldn't imagine adding anything else to this clutter. So when Drew left this morning for work I took it upon myself to do a little organizing. I'm pretty satisfied with the results but I'm not too confident it will stay like this for long! ... Fingers crossed!

Before:

After!

Parker came for a visit this afternoon and we quickly moved through a few fun activities!
Played on the hay...

Caught and ate bubbles!

Then we got a hold of the water hose!
Drinking from the hose; such a little man now!

Watered the flowers for Aunt Bean.

Bucket-o-water

After stripping himself naked he returned to the bucket for the next 30 minutes or so until
we had to go eat dinner!

--Looking forward to a lazy Sunday. 1st week of the outage officially down. 3-4 more to go.. :(

Brrrrrrr!

Soooo... This happened:
Sand in bath tub.

Filter on tank COMPLETELY full. This filter was only in use for 6 days. We can normally use a filter for around 6 months before it needs to be changed.

So then this happened:
Well man came to check it out...

Which lead to this:
Yes, that is sand.. and lots of it..

And the result was? No change. We still have sandy water which will not allow us to have hot water. However, Drew and I have learned from this experience; we can now master this:

Directions for cold shower (see above).

Miracle Soap Scum Remover

Like many others who decided to have glass installed in their showers I have come to regret that decision, mostly due to the fact that there is always soap scum or lime scale on the glass. I stumbled a cross a blog on pinterest claiming to have discovered an easy solution for combating soap scum and such on shower glass. So, following the advice off of the blog I mixed up 1 cup of blue dawn dish soap and 1 cup of hot white vinegar in an empty spray bottle.

Here is the solution from the blog:

Here is my extra-tall hubby coating our shower with the mixture:

Let it soak for 2 hours.. then I scrubbed it off with a sponge and hot water.

Results? Ehhhh. It worked better than Windex, but I'll stick with CLR bathroom cleaner. I think another issues why this might not have worked as well as the blogger posted in her site is becasue we have lime and calcium in our well water which builds up on the glass in addition to the soap scum.
